Misdirection can be Gods direction

In the time that I have served the Lord, there has been one thing among many that has stuck out like a sore thumb; that would be the fact that God wants us to rely upon Him. the problem with many people including myself, is that we want things our way. But, surprise- God is not BurgerKing.

To be honest, we would all prefer to have everything easy.. a 20 year job with retirement benefits, all our bills paid at the end of the month, a beautiful house with a gorgeous family to accompany. That is all good and fine, but God wants us to be open, too.

The Bible specifically says that man plans his way but God determines his steps. I know this for a fact. I wanted to be a wealthy contractor/pastor, but God said know those are your skills but you have so many I am going to stretch you, to show you what I(God) want you to do.

Currently, I am am an Elder in a church, a Contractor, but I am also a teacher. If it was up to me I would not have ever gone into the school system full time, BUT GOD! The weighed my heart and directed my steps, and not only knew my skills-talents but he knew that his spirit was needed in that particular vocation.

This is not to downplay retirement, or planning out ones future but through prayer, fasting, and a multitude of counsel one will find his or her way. Seek first the kingdom of God and all of His righteousness, and all the desires of ones heart will be added. To be honest I always wanted to teach young people whom not not comprehend curriculum. He knows best.

God Bless you,

Vondell
